Ground Hog Day, the groundhog saw his shadow. That's means its suppose to be 6 more weeks of winter, not that we have had any winter here. We had more snow on Oct. 29th, 2011, than anytime since.
I bought a Juki short-arm sewing machine from my friend, Jenn. I am so excited, I have want some kind-of "-arm quilter" for a few years. This one just fell in my lap and is helping her and her family out. If Rick wasn't getting a bonus check for his unused vacation hours from last year, I wouldn't be getting the new machine.
Update on quilt blocks: I haven't cut any more out since last week. I spent most of last week getting ready Rick's brother and family's visit Friday night. It went better than I expected. I always stress out and then everything goes fine in the end.
I hope to cut more blocks this weekend and start sewing them soon.
I think I would like to try English Paper Piecing and maybe Applique. I'm not sure about the applique, but I do want to learn how to paper piece.
We have decided to stay in this house for the next 5 yrs. Tristan will be in college by then. When we do move, we will only have to decide where to move it won't be more for us, unless the kids go to college in VA. Not that we want to leave the state anyway, we have always dreamed of living in the Williamsburg, Norfolk, VA Beach area. I have decided if we put a rail up on the left side of the staircase and can get upstairs safely then I would go up to get a full body shower 3-4 times a week, sleep upstairs that night. Then come down when Rick comes down in the mornings and spend then next day or so sleeping downstairs. To that end, we are going to buy the material for the rail this weekend. May go to Joann's also as I need 1/3 yd more of the blue-grey fabric I am using in my ABC quilt blocks.
I need to start making a menu for each week. We have so much food in the pantry and big freezer. It will be so much easier. I'm going to take a page from Jenn and start posting them, so I can be accountable to myself.
Super Bowl XLIV (46) is this Sunday and I am so excited!!!
Have a blessed day,
Diana
I really hope the machine blesses you. I know the menus will. They really help us out!
